I wanted to review 3 cases by Artech 21. It will be 1 review since all 3 pretty much the same. I will add a few notes about any differences though.
Some back history:
I have been a big fan of Poetic cases for quite awhile, using them on different phones and the case quality always stayed the same. I also have a gold s7 edge. I used each case for about 12-20 hours to ensure each was tested properly.
I was approached to review Artech 21 and figured, sure, it couldn't hurt and I would broaden my case knowledge. I received 3 cases, I am not sure of the naming, so I will do by description:
Case 1: Black and steel silver
Case 2: Clear and champaign gold
Case 3: Navy and champaign gold
Case 1 & 3 were same style, and 3 was a little different.
I have always aimed for clear cases, going back to HTC Evo where I made clear battery doors to showcase the insides. The first case I went with after stripping the poetic off, was case 2. The entire case is clear except for the trim. The first thing I felt was no feeling... or the lack of feeling. I felt that the lack of any texture would mean I would be shot putting my phone when I went for a run. When I went to take the case off, I notices that it was actually 2 pieces. I am not sure if that was by design or not but more of that later.
Next case I put on was case 3. Ok, so we have texture now. But the texture runs horizonal instead of vertical. It still was textured and fit quite nice.
Finally I went with case 1. YES! we have vertical texture that feels like a gritty piece of sandpaper. This bad boy won't come out of my hand even if I ran like the Flash! Hmmmm but I now have silver, black, and gold... its like a collage of metal.
Back to case 1, if you remember, I realized the 2 pieces. So I did some surgery, I put the gold trim on the black case. It looks very nice and I have some grit to hang on to.
Drop test..... yes, I had an unplanned drop test :) I went to put my phone into my shorts and it clipped my pocket and went to the sidewalk about 5 feet from me. It hit square on the top right corner and all ok!! The case now has a very cool battle scar.
Overall impressions:
I am no longer using my poetic case. I am with my black/gold mod case. After the drop test, I know 100% this case can handle what I would throw (no pun intended) at it. I did notice that the edge of the case seemed to be a smidge higher than the poetic. The poetic is "slimmer" than this case. If you want super slim, I would go with the poetic but I think this gives me a nice mix of slim and protection.

I am adding images that I took next to the poetic. Amazon has much better images of each case than I could take.
