Sony and disappointments

Hi, I don't know if people from Sony read those forums, but maybe, just maybe they will receive and in the future they will make things better. Sorry upfronf for the rant, you can skip it if you are not in the mood.

This is about the Z5 compact, but not only.
It is about somebody that always loved the Sony brand, and associate it with good memories and experiences and has been across those years loyal, just to be disappointed over and over.

I can start far away with Sony products, with my Walkman, My Discman and minidisc, but I will mention just Sony mobile products.
I have been the owner of
- SonyEricsson P800
- SonyEricsson P900
-SonyEricsson W880 (I am not sure about the exact number, but it was a Walkman phone)
- SonyEricsson Xperia Ray
- Sony Z3 Compact
- Sony Z5 Compact

I do not want to list all the accessories that i have spent money on, but just one, which is the Sony Liveview.
Gosh that product should have never left the testing facility. I was amazed how bad it was. I mean, did they ever tested it?
It lost connection every 5 minutes, program crashes, freezes...

The xperia Ray was OK, unfortunately the performances were poor, so it was often frustrating to use.

I wanted to buy the original Z, but the reviews weren't very enthusiastic .. so I skipped that and I got a Z3C some time later.

It was a nice phone, good battery, but lousy camera and .... boy if it was fragile.
I crashed the screen 3 times, in 6 months and the back twice. It did fell off, yes, but twice from very very low height.
I crashed other screens already, but of course with the Xperia Z3C if the screen was little bit crashed it would not respond at all to any touch (contrary to what I had with Lumia and Iphone).

While you can change an iphone screen with 80 euros, the Z3C screen was at least double + paying someone to replace it.

After the last crash, I decided to replace it by myself and I fried the motherboard :(. Funny enough, I have already replaced a screen for an iPhone 4 with no problem, but apparently internals for Sony Z3C are particularly fragile.

Then I forgot Sony for some time but, for some reason I always tell myself that the next time they will do product that will show the world how good they are.

So after having for some time a OnePlusX I decided to buy a Z5C, because I was too frustrated by the battery life and the camera of the OnePlusX. It was more an impulse buy, so I did not check XDA before (and I should have).

In their website they say
- Premium and compact
- 23 MP hybrid AF camera
- Up to 2 days of battery life

I can say it is compact, about Premium, is subjective. I like the omnibalance design, but nobody even noticed that I have new phone, I would not say it is like a Galaxy S7 Edge that attracts lot of attention.

The Camera is just disappointing. This famous 'superfast' autofocus, is not fast at all. It does not have burst mode (apart from some low res version called timeshift I think), in low light is not good and if you check the details everything is supercompressed. Seriously?

But ok, it still gets 2 days of battery life, right?
I wish, I really wish. The fact is that I do not really want a 2 days battery phone, I just want a phone I can use through the day and do not worry about charging in the middle of the day. One full day it's ok, but my Z5C does not make it, or barely make it. (and yes I have tried all the stuff suggested here, including a factory reset)

So now I find myself with a phone that costs double than the one plus X, and does not deliver at all (also the screen is way more boring than the vibrant one plus amoled).

Will I buy another Sony in the future? This time is really the last time, I swear. And reading the reviews of the Xperia X and XA comforts me in this decision.

For now I am stuck with my Z5C. I will keep it until the screen cracks and become completely unresponsive, which from experience will not be long.
