[Root][5.1.1] for KIW-L24 USA (kiwi)

We have created a pre-rooted system image for the Honor 5x USA model. It has been a group effort of about 15 devs in the days leading to the official release of the Honor 5x to research this method and get it working.

Step 1
Make a Huawei ID at the following and wait 14 days

Step 2
Once 14 days have passed go here log in and fill out the details needed

Now that you have your unlock code go to about phone in settings and click the build number until it tells you that you are a developer. Then go back once and select developer options and look for usb debugging and turn it on.

Step 4
I am going to assume you have adb and fastboot installed on your computer, but if not go to this thread to install it.

Step 5
Plug your device into the computer and authorize your device key so adb will work, then type the following commands:

adb reboot bootloader

---

Once it boots into the bootloader do the following command

fastboot oem unlock 2062712452147427

---

Where numbers are put what you got from the website keep in mind it will wipe your data so if you have any personal data back it up first.

Step 6
Boot up the phone and set it up

Step 7
Download the following file and unzip it twice so you get rootedsystem.img (I recommend 7zip if on windows)
Link will come once it finishes uploading and is verified

Step 8
Boot back into the bootloader and flash the system with the following command:

fastboot flash system rootedsystem.img

---

It will take a little bit to flash make sure you do not mess with phone in case you unplug the cable.

Step 9
Once it finishes type the following

fastboot reboot
