I am trying to update firmware using kies:
on log-in to Kies it asks for Device name... and the S/N (which i assume is the imei # )
i have acquired the IMEI in several ways, (there is no label in the battery area)
a) dialing *#06#
and
b) via settings>more>about>status.
both no's correlate with the same 15 digit number
( i also back searched this number imei online, and it confirmed it's a GT-i9505 )
HOWEVER kies won't allow me to log-in, telling me it's an invalid S/N !
p.s. one further question:
the about 'about device' gives a 15 digit number, whereas calling *#06# it adds an additional; ' space/space03 ' which i see in the settings 'STATUS' section as the 'IMEI SZ' is this significant? I have tried entering both the 15 digit, and the 15 plus the /03
but all attempts have been rejected :(
is there some secret way of entering the S/N ?
