LG G Stylo dilemma (Virgin Mobile)

Hi, I bought a Virgin Mobile LG G Stylo, but I am afraid of these app closes and keyboard crashes it has on 5.1.1. I want to root it so I can still do what I've been doing on my previous phones, like wifi hotspots, cpu clocking, bloatware removal, etc., but I can only root 5.1.1. Basically, if I do the update, I cannot root, but if I don't update and just root, I cannot update to remove the bugs. Would anyone know any method to root 6.0, or might I be fine and be able to make 5.1.1 work with some ROM on Virgin? OR, has the Stylo 2 any root method yet? I am stuck with an Optimus Slider until I figure this out :(
