Question: Updating from KitKat to Marshmallow

My wife has the Verizon S5 rooted on KitKat with safestrap recovery. She keeps bugging me that she wants me to update her phone to the new Marshmallow update. I want to keep root and use the dev unlocked bootloader but I have been out of the game of flashing ROMs and such for quite some time now due to a new job. I have read the entire OP in the bootloader unlocking thread and have acquired some files to begin the process. I just want to make sure I do this correctly to make sure I don't majorly screw up my wife's phone.

The files I have downloaded are as follows:
Odin3_v3.09.zip
SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.00.ex e
SamsungUnlockerS5.apk
VZW_BPB1_ODEX_DEODEX_V9.zip
BPB1_Firmware_No_Bootloaders_SS_FF.zip
G900V_Firmware_PB1.tar.md5
PD1_Full_Factory_Restore_No_Aboot.tar.zip

1.) So the first thing I need to do is flash the PB1 ROM and firmware zips in safestrap?
2.) Then boot into download mode and flash PB1 bootloader using odin?
3.) Then after the phone boots up the newly installed LP ROM with LP bootloader, I just install the unlocker app and unlock bootloader, then install custom recovery and I'm good to go?
4.) Now I can just flash the PD1 firmware (Marshmallow) using odin and it won't touch the dev unlocked bootloader?
Will I have to install the custom recovery.img again or will the odin file not touch this partition?
Is this the correct and best way to go about updating from KitKat to Marshmallow and keep root and unlock bootloader, or is there a better and easier way of going about this? Thanks in advance and any help is very much appreciated.
