The Nexus 6P - Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde?

My Note 3 is dying and I'm looking around for my next daily driver. I've got kids so money and time mean I've got to get the best stock phone I can without rooting, and get it right first time.

I'm really interested in the 6P, but watching YouTube vids it seems to be two-faced: it's perfect or a mess; so which is it?

1) Does bluetooth work reliably or still have regular disconnects 6+ months after launch? (My Note 3 was rock-steady.)

2) Does Gmail arrive promptly, or after 20minutes-several hours? (Important for me.)

3) Is the headphone jack as dodgy as it looks in the vids? If it's not registering connection brand new, what's it going to be like after a year, or eighteen months? (I can't afford less than a 2 year cycle for phones.)

4) Is the phone 'buttery-smooth' or regularly prone to pauses and lags during lighter use? (Depending on the reviewer, it varied.)

5) Are my games going to throttle/stutter - rendering the money spent on a 'gaming' phone wasted?

6) Is there anything else I should know about?

Any help and accurate information greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

One confused Fizzig.
