usb media trasfer!!

Hi
I have a rooted galaxy s5 with the Omega lollipop rom. And recently whenever I try to use usb media transfer it stops half way and gives an error saying it is not able to copy any more and stops. Even if I try to restart the process manually it gives the same error unless I Uninstall the driver and install I again by plugging it in.
Is there a way to fix this? Please help??

Noob development question: avc permission denied { open } on zip file, Marshmallow

This question was also asked in StackOverflow by me. (http://ift.tt/1SpogqZ)

My apologies if this has been asked, but the only articles/threads for SELinux explained the policies and didn't have a procedure on Android, OR were not for Android.

Currently writing an app where content (in a small zip file) is downloaded from an external location and stored inside /data/data/package_name_removed/user1/, to be read later.

I currently have a zip file in that directory "Test.zip".

A try-catch loop containing:

Code:

//where filename is Test.zip
//and userDir = "user1"
//and sourceContext is passed from the base Activity calling this class that does not inherit Activity
Log.d("Target file is", sourceContext.getFilesDir()+"/"+userDir +"/"+ fileName);
File file = new File(sourceContext.getFilesDir()+"/"+userDir +"/"+ fileName);
ZipFile loadedFile = new ZipFile(file);

Doesn't seem to work in Marshmallow:

Code:

D/Target file is: /data/data/package_name_removed/files/user1/Test.zip
W/package_name_removed: type=1400 audit(0.0:11699): avc: denied { open } for name="Test.zip" dev="mmcblk0p29" ino=57426 scontext=u:r:untrusted_app:s0:c512,c768 tcontext=u:object_r:app_data_file:s0 tclass=file permissive=0

"avc" is a SELINUX error according to the documentation.

This is a Log.d of the IOException getMessage; I think this one's generated from the new File() statement:

Code:

D/Log_title_omitted: /data/data/package_name_removed/files/user1/Test.zip: open failed: EACCES (Permission denied)
I'm pretty sure I do not need READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE at this point as I'm in a directory that is the app's personal directory, which the app is supposed to have access to anyway.

I don't think I should change SELINUX to Permissive in order for this to work, I can't guarantee this flag is set on any other device but mine.

Any help here? Or is the procedure now to get write permissions to a location that isn't guaranteed to exist?

please help, need video and pic recovery

Long story short, i dropped my phone, screen cracked but still worked, a month later screen went totally black, got screen replaced but returned to factory settings.

I have had this phone for the past year and have hundreds of photos and videos of my newborn son that i think i have lost forever.

Is there anyway to recovery this data? I honestly am like a 6 year old when it comes to this, so take it easy on me please.

the phone is a Verizon galaxy S6 with 5.1.1

Ive tried to root the phone with kingo root(admittedly not knowing what the heck im doing) but have learned they can not root 5.1.1

I am desperate, i just want these videos and photos i could care less if the phone is worthless afterwards..

let me know if you need any more info

thank you very much in advance!

S4 moving lines on the screen issue

Here's a video of my dad's new S4, it's on the newest firmware (OK3), not rooted or anything but it just starting doing this:

Is the display just bad?? I tried putting an earlier stock firmware on it (MDL) and it failed to take so I just flashed OK4 back onto it, same deal.

I'm thinking this is a hardware issue since it occurs even when the phone starts up and the main rom isn't even loaded yet but it was off and on before but now it's all that happens.

Any body else have this issue and can shed any light on a fix other than replacement??

How to hide pictures(Only) for Gallery

I have an SD card which includes many folders of CDs and Scans.
When I opened the Gallery, the pictures of CD scan will appear but I want to hide them.
Here comes the problem: I know I can creat a .nomedia file to make it hiden but that will also prevent the music file in the same folder from being scanned by the music player. Besides creating those files is such an exhausting work.
So is there's a way I can hide pics in gallery but not influence my music? Or make media scanner scan the specific folder only.
PS: Why the stock Gallery App doesn't have a hide function. (-.-;)
Sorry for my bad English. Appreciate for your help. (^_-)

Help with Australian Moto X style Modem

Firstly let me say I have spent the last 3 days trying to figure out how to get any custom rom to work with wifi and network working but i have only been able to get one or the other working at any one time.

I have reverted back to stock using the tool found on here however my wifi still wont work and flashing the Indian or European or american versions make it work but make networking not work. So i guess I need the Australian Modem files :(

I did do a backup with TWRP however i checked that it was stored on the internal and not external card by default which i totally missed and since then wiped that internal partition.

Does anyone know or have the Australian Moto X style Modem? I really need help.

LG G3 D851 external SD Card problems

I have a freshly formatted 32 gb micro SD card (fat32) that I put in my Freshly rooted phone using Bliss Pop Rom. When I boot up my phone, go to storage and mount the micro SD, it automatically says that it now has 15bgb on it. Using ES file explorer I examine the contents of the card and there is nothing on it but yet it reads as 15gb left. What's worse is that when I try to copy or move a file to it, a message saying not enough space please free up space to proceed. I Googled the crap out of this issue. No luck. Please help. I use a lot of storage and the SD card is important to me.

7zip to zip flashable zips not working

I always used WinRAR to zip my flashable zips
But recently I wanted to change to 7zip, which seems like a much better option.
The zip is created, but when flashed in TWRP it says 'zip is corrupted'. Note that I use 7zip default settings to zip (Compression-level-Normal, Compression method- deflate)
Maybe some thing I'm doing wrong?
With WinRAR, default settings (Compression level-normal) works fine though...

Kernel Options

Hey everyone,
I was hoping to stay on stock and just replace the kernel for maximum stability and battery. I was planning on cycling through the different options and seeing how they felt. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm not looking for features in my kernel just battery life. I'm not really having any issues with my battery now just trying to see if i can make it above 4hrs screen on time.

Thanks for any assistance, going to post reviews when i finish.

Need help with Flashing

I need some help with the Flashtool. Did I build the .ftf right if I choose everything but the .ta files (following this guide)? Also, which things should I wipe when selecting firmware? There's APPS_LOG, DIAG, SSD and USERDATA.

Does this seem like a good output when starting?
Code:

My device I think is in MTP mode currently, does it affect the flashing?

I'd really appreciate the help, I'm very beginner in flashing roms and don't want to brick my phone.

Is an unlocked bootloader being developed?

I know there is an unlocked bootloader for the h815, but I'm just wondering if one is being developed for any other models. Either way, anyone who is involved with developing roots and anything like that keep up the great work! Sorry if this has been asked. If it has can you please give me the link?

Temproot exploit scripts

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to root the new ZTE ZMAX 2. My hope to start is to figure out if it is vulnerable Justin's ZTE backdoor which keeps root for ADB. However I have been unable to get temproot using anything I can find so far, and most I have tried besides the one-click-apps are pretty old scripts (android-run-root-shell). Are there any scripts out there that are known to work on 5.1? VTS shows I am vulnerable to CVS-2015-6616 and 6608, but I haven't seen anywhere that these are public exploits. Any direction would be helpful. Thanks.

What "default" apps have you replaced with 3rd party?

Curious, what default Android apps have you replaced with 3rd party apps? Launcher, dialer, SMS, camera, etc?

For me I'm all stock at the moment except for using Nova launcher. I'd like to see what other people are using, though!

Flashing Stock-Based AOSP Rom or CM-Based Rom?

Hi!

This is just a quick question and a voting poll on which you will prefer and most of you have on their device right now (possibly after voting please explain why you choose the other one from the latter)

This is to help me to determine whether I'm gonna flash a CM based rom or an AOSP stocking based Rom(Which I have been using since MM was released)

What all our goals and possible feuds you can discuss below are:
1.) Which one has bettery battery life in idle?
2.) Which one has faster performance?
3.) Which one has the most buttery smooth effect on your hands?

Features differ from every rom and we couldn't care less about it because we flash whichever has the feature we need
