Has anyone been able to get video recording to work with location/GPS/navigation?

Is this really how this phone works? When video recording, GPS/location stops working/updating (icon turns gray instead of white), which means I can't use navigation apps at the same time. Someone please tell me I just broke something and that this isn't normal...

This is all on stock rooted KK and with CWM, by the way.
