New owner of a Z5c - applied stock screen protector badly

I bought a black Xperia Z5 Compact today, but the first thing I did was to apply the stock plastic screen protector badly. Yes, it's not good at all.

Can't I just take it off?
Is it generally a bad idea to not have a screen protector on?
Will it be easy to take off and I hope it will not leave any marks on my new, beautiful device :confused:
