Systemless root on MRA58N?

How does the new systemless root work? I've currently got LMY48M with TWRP.

My thought is:
1. flash the factory MRA58N image with "-w" removed to preserve data
2. re-flash TWRP - needed?
3. flash the systemless boot.img for MRA58N
4. install SuperSU from TWRP

Is that right?
