Wifi Hotspot works ok with no security, WPA2 no connectivity

Hi all,
HTC M9 Unlocked Carrier Free, Current Service Provider T Mobile
Android 5.1
ViperOneM9 3.5 Custom ROM
Build # 2.7.531.4 CL560065
Kernel 3.10.49-perf-ga10e09f

I connect fine to my phone hotspot with no security and have good connectivity.
I try with WPA2 and it says connected fine to the hotspot wifi but no actual connectivity.
Of course I would like to secure it.

Any help appreciated, thanks!
